Scanning a site you do not own can disrupt it and may be illegal. TasScan therefore scans, monitors and discovers only on assets whose ownership you have proven, and only after you accept the authorization record for them.
Choose a method
| Method | You publish | Best when |
|---|---|---|
| DNS TXT record | A TXT record on your domain | You control DNS. Works for the domain and everything under it, and survives site rebuilds. |
| HTTP file | A small text file at a fixed path on your site | You can upload files to the web root. |
| Meta tag | A line in the <head> of your homepage | You can edit the page template but not DNS. |
| Email code | Nothing: you read a code sent to a standard admin mailbox | You have a mailbox such as postmaster@ on the domain. Available only when the platform has enabled it. |
We recommend DNS TXT: it does not depend on how the site is built or deployed.
